Post subject:  OOAK Comp No 2: Riddles - Winners Tatlwai & Speedplay!

As mentioned in an earlier thread, I have some samples of new rubbers and blades, so instead of these sitting around at home waiting to find someone I can give them to, I thought I might share them around on the forum instead, where I'm sure they can be put to good use  We'll run some fun little competitions monthly, where the winner get the free item.

Competition #2 is for the best riddle (clean please  ) and best solver of the riddles, about a table tennis related subject. You have 2 week to come up with one (or more) riddle and post the riddle (but not the solution!) in this thread. It can be about a player, official, rubber, blade or anything else as long as it's related to table tennis. You can post as many riddles as you want.

Every riddle must have a unique solution, and everyone can post (in this thread) ONE guess per day (per riddle) to solve the riddle. The writer can choose to provide hints if it seems too hard to solve. When a riddle is solved, the writer posts (in this thread) the name of the member that got it right first, and I will update the first post in this thread to indicate the riddle in solved and the winner.

At the end of 2 weeks, the member that solved the most riddles will be awarded a price. At this point we will also start a poll for 1 week, for the best riddle (this may not be the one hardest to guess, but could be the most clever or funniest one). After 1 week of voting the person with the highest No of votes also gets the price.

The prize of this competition is a brand new Blutenkirsche 868 rubber Japanese sponge(Swiss based company) inverted rubber (2.2mm black), description below. This is brand new and will be sent to your free of charge wherever you are.

Of course this is not really all about the winning the prize, but about some good fun and laughs in the forum as well. Hopefully it will promote our forum a little as well, so don't be afraid to spread the word to some of your TT friends to submit their riddles as well. Note I might post some of the riddles on my TT blog or other site as well to bring a bit of attention to this competition and the forum... if you don't want your riddle used for this, please let me know, and I'll totally respect that.

So do your :downtown: , and don't wreck your brains on this :violent1: Good luck guys!

"The Kokutaku range of rubber are a collaborative effort between the Japanese company Kokutaku, and the Chinese company Tuttle. Although the rubbers are manufactured in China, they are obviously under the quality control constraints of their Japanese partner, as the quality of these rubbers are outstanding, and among the best we’ve seen. All the rubbers that we carry employ their Explosion III technology, which is designed to offer explosive power on higher impact strokes. The Chinese topsheet and PREMIUM quality Japanese and German sponges combine to produce a tacky rubber with a euro type feel.

A newly developed rubber for 2006, this is a more speed oriented rubber by Kokutaku, with a thinner and mildly tacky topsheet. In combination with the soft and premium quality Japanese sponge, this rubber offers great touch and feel. Although the sponge is quite soft, it’s not slow and is suitable for Euro-style topspin play with the long arm movement. The great dwell time offer great spin, and in attack it provides a catapult-type effect to produce more power with little effort. It is known to respond well to speed glue."

Sponge: 2.2mm Japanese 35-38deg

Who am I?

I began playing table tennis at the age of 12, and I specialize in doubles play. In 1997, I participated at the 1997 Maccabiah Games in Israel. I was part of the delegation that was involved in the tragic bridge collapse during the opening ceremony of the games.

I competed at the Athens Olympics - Round of 32 Men's doubles. My partner and I were defeated in the second round of the tournament.
I won a Gold Medal at Oceania Games in Men's Doubles, 2004.
A Bronze Medal at Commonwealth Games in the Team event, 2004.
In the 2006 Commonwealth Games, despite battling injury throughout the tournament I beat a highly-fancied Singaporean opponent.
I also won a Silver Medal at the Finland Open in the Team event, 2005.

My highest National Rankings were: 4th in Singles & 1st in Doubles.
