What date will the vote be taken on Sweden's recommendation re: frictionless Long-pips? If passed when will it likely be implemented?

May 28. How it would be reinstated is up in the air at this point.

You know those approved equipment lists? They'll probably include them in the next list of rubbers...if they are reinstated. I've never tried frictionless...heard they're nice ;p

I'm sure frictionless rubbers won't be automatically reinsteated... they will need to go through the approval process again and if they deem them to be treated they will remain banned as that was always against the rules. Nothing will happen till the next LARC the earliest...

"The Annual General Meeting of the International Table Tennis Federation will be held on Wednesday 26 May 2010 at 09h00 in the Concert Hall, Cosmos Hotel, Moscow, Russia"

is the vote held on the 26th or on the 28th?

apparantly mr.schöler (who is claimed responsible for the ban) is massively campaigning against the swedish proposal behind the scene and contacting those who will vote!

I hope many of us have written the member of the BoD as well. If you have not yet written, please take a look at this thread for details:

Of course. It's his baby. Hopefully the BoD will be objective and not allow themselves to be bullied by him. I just hope the BoD understands this is a personal vendetta of Schöler against a certain manufacturer and the style he developed. They are just being manipulated...again.

Lately there has been a few players at my club that has been pissin me off. So I think I would go back to frictionless LP just to get them mad.

To any BoD members reading this:

1. A NO vote means Ebay will continue to be a marketplace for treated ITTF-approved rubbers. A YES vote puts the people selling treated rubbers out of business.

2. A NO vote means players will continue to bring down the friction without detection. A YES vote means all players will have an even playing field.

If you reject the Swedish proposal to rescind the ban of pimples without friction you are supporting the continued sales of treated rubbers and ensuring that people using those rubbers will have an advantage.

Don't let Ebby Schöler twist the facts. This was a bad rule when he pushed it through the first time - incorrectly proclaiming it will rid the sport of treated-long pips. The reality is it has increased the usage of treated-long pips and in fact made the ITTF approval meaningless as there are methods to treat ITTF-approved rubbers after the fact with no chance of detection. The minimum friction rule has been A DISASTER in the two years it has been in effect since it cannot be enforced.

Vote YES to rescind the ban of pimples without friction and give the power back to the ITTF to make meaningful approvals of pimpled playing surfaces.

Will the voting be May 26th or 28th? When will they announce the results of the voting to the public?
