Hi all,

Here's a couple of highlight videos I've made for YouTube that you might enjoy:

Jian Fang Lay vs May Cho
Miao Miao vs May Cho

Jian Fang Lay uses inverted and long pips and twiddles using a penhold grip, while Miao Miao uses short pips on both sides and hits shakehand style. May Cho is a conventional inverted rubber player.

BTW, I've still got some spots available in my Online Long Pips & Antispin Coaching Program if anyone is interested. I'll let OOAK members who PM me in the next week or so join up for only $20 Aus per month for the first year, and $10 per month after that. Normal price is now $25 per month for the first year, and then $10 per month. PM me if you'd like to join, and I'll send you the URL of the page with the PayPal button for OOAK members. I've currently got over 13 hours of video up for members, with more to come!

Greg

Hi Monkey,
It might be hard for Dtop to play the guy you are referring to next time he comes to Melb because the guy seems to only be coaching at the moment and I have not seen him playing in any of the tournament or league comp down here. He filled in in our top grade @ Dandy just once and cleaned up all the leading players without any problems. His variation of chop looked really good and if you lifted anything up he was in like a flash to loop or kill really hard.
The best true modern defender player I have seen down here. Really nice guy and he has built up a great reputation for coaching @ Dandy & MSAC.
I am tempted to take a couple of general lessons.

Dtop I am lucky enough down here in Melb to see these Ladies battle it out on a regular basis, last time was a couple of weeks ago at the Croydon tournament when Jian Fang Lay played against Miao Miao in a final. A couple of the rallies involved incredibly fast, off the bounce hitting while standing up at the table, the speed was so insanely fast that both players burst out in laughter and smiles after the rallies concluded because it was pure reflex.

Nope - I'm based in Perth, across the other side of Australia. I only get to the Eastern states once or twice a year.

Not sure these days, I think it used to be TSP Spectol in at least 1.9 or thicker. But that was a couple of years ago when my partner checked out Miao's bat - she might have changed since then.

I've seen her listed as spin pips 2.0 and 563 1.5

Sorry Silver
I always say hello with him when I run into him but we have not been formally introduced so I don't actually know his name.
I will find out for you. I think he told other players he was a uni player in Japan I think he said and he also spent some time in China to improve his coaching skills.

I think he really wants to focus on being a coach.
