I have been using Prasidha Long A 1.1 mm since last November and was very satisfy with it's control and attacking probabilities. Watching thr forum members switching this and that makes me have the urge to try something different. That's where this thicker spongy idea came from.

For this testing, 1.5 mm Domination on forehand, 1.5 mm Long A on back hand. Domination is great for chopping, but I don't think it has enough power for me.

The conclusion?
1. Much more bouncy. Used wrong bat angle, ball is out.
2. Good for chopping, real or disguise.
3. More power attacking top spin balls or pushed under spin balls.

Definitely have potentials. Thanks.

I just don't know why it don't work, but I copied the links directly from Revver to the bookmark and then copied them on the forum. However, I can always count on Fosssil to assist me, thanks.

Thanks, Haggisv, it is all intentions and get used to the pace of the balls. That 2 successful ball attacks, I didn't have any hesitation at all. The balls I missed, I was either half a step slow or hitting with some hesitation and hence, the ball was way out and my wrist was not fully turned.

This afternoon, I played with two completely different players, the Bill that I played 2 weeks ago and my other practice partner, Eric, who used C-pen hold with Double Happiness H-3 on FH and Prasidha 1615 1.0 on back hand (I gave him the rubber)

Bill is a over 2000 rated experience players with invert on forehand and Super Block (SB) OX on backhand. He holds his blade kind of like Seemiller and can hit his backhand using the invert rubber. I always had mental problems playing against him because he used his SB so beautifully. With other players, I can set up the serve with a third ball attack. Not with Bill, he just didn't give me any opportunity at all. I ended up losing 1-11 and 6-11 for the first match; then 6-11 and 7-11 for the second match. I have the first match video taped but I am so embarrass to show them to you all.

Now after I lost to Bill, my practice partner, Eric, played against Bill and had a very good match with him, very close with scores of 10-12 and 7 - 11.

So, when it is my turn to play Eric, one would think I would have a tough match with Eric. Not so, although Eric have long pip on his BH, his usage is completely different than Bill and not as effective. I can perform many third ball or fourth ball attack, I won relatively easy with 11- 6 and 11- 7. I have this match taped too, but I really don't want to give BH an advantage of how I actually play.

During the above 2 matches, my mental attitude was completely different. With Bill, his playing style with good forehand and the use of SB just made me feel so helpless and missed many easy balls. With Eric, I was full of confidence, dictating the balls and hence the difference.

Does anyone had any similar experience during their matches?

Absolutely... and it's not always obvious WHY I have so much more trouble with one player compared to another...

BH, the thicker spongy was not really for me yet, it may be great for hitting but lousy for match play, it is too sensible to all side and under spins. So, I am back on the 1.1 mm which I have a load of, oh, what a relief.

The problem for me is not enough decent long pip players play long pips with me, at least not your style. However, from watching your various videos, I kind of know your style. In the same token, I have shown enough videos here that you know my style too. So, we are at least equal in that each other game style is not a secret.

It should be fun playing you, I can't wait.

BTW, you got my cell no., right?

Hi Tat,
Revver send you an email with the correct link to copy and paste to posts in that email...and also you can copy and paste the url from the top of the browser...you can either leave the extra data after the number there http://revver.com/video/709114/testing- ... er-spongy/

or remove every thing after the number http://revver.com/video/709114

I am also interested why you call sponge, spongy...is that your pet name for it???

Hi Fosss, just bad habits. I think I was in a hurry (just like doing the video editing) and didn't wait for Revver to send me the links. What I did was, once the upload was completed, I copied the link shown on the same page. It worked in veoh.com

Spongy, it is a name I somehow used instead of sponge. I just checked it up in the dictionary, it is an adjective of sponge, thanks for pointing that out, much appreciated.

On another note, your strokes looked great on your new vid regarding the use of Inferno OX. Question, why are you guys wearing caps while playing inside?

Tat

Hi Suplazza, your signature suggested you might be from HK. Not too many players play Prasidha rubbers, only those from Hong Kong or visited HK and knew where to find one.

I came from HK long long time ago, may be before you were born. Which part of USA are you located?

I made this video back in February when I was still searching for a forehand rubber. I was using Dr Neubauer's Domination 1.5 on Nittaku's KVT blade, great for chopping but not enough power for me to attack.

As shown on my signature, I am currently happy with Joola R*1 as my No. 1 blade, 802-40 2.2 short pip on forehand, and FeintSoft 1.3 on backhand. So far, this will be my setup for now. Who know, I might be lucky (or unlucky) enough to find a better alternative.

Hey tat.
im located in the State of Oregon on the west coast. it gets a ton of rain and its not the best place in the world. :P
I thought u were using Prasidha long A? maby u found a better lp for attacking? if i go back to hong kong, do u think i should get a sheet of long A to try out? right now im using ritc 837. and what thickness?

again nice hitting. i saw ur other more recent video. good too.

nice :D :D :D
